Analysis

Running a review, new versions, cross-checks and web search.

Running an analysis

Open a Word document and press AI Analysis. Its ▾ menu has the depths:

  • Standard: section review, requirement-set and procedure-flow checks, cross-checks with related files, and verification of every finding. About 45–75 minutes for a 100–200 page document on a capable model.
  • Deep: everything in Standard, plus each section reviewed twice and an investigation stage that follows leads across the document and your folder. Finds a few more cross-section issues; about 20–30 minutes longer.

You can keep working while it runs; Cancel stops it. Comments appear in the Comments pane when it finishes, and the reviewed Word file is generated in the background.

Analyze with instructions

Tell the reviewer what to focus on or what to ignore for this document ("check the figures against the appendix", "ignore formatting"). Saved instructions can be reused and tagged.

When a new version arrives

Put it in the same folder. Open it and choose Review the new version: every open comment from the last round is checked against the new text (resolved, partly resolved or not), the unresolved ones are carried over, and Analyze changes only reviews just what changed.

The review loop

Review loop… shows every comment of every version of the document with its history: raised, author replies, the status per round. Filter for open, resolved, new this round and disputed. The status bar counts them while the document is open.

Compare with the current version

On an older revision, Compare with current version… checks each of its comments (Word comments and DocReview's) against the newer text.

Cross-check against another file

Cross-check against… (or drag a file onto the document) compares the document with another file of your folder, for example a specification against its requirements list, and lists where they disagree.

Run history

Earlier analyses of the document, with their settings and results; open one to see its comments again.

AI Query and Summarize

AI Query answers questions about the open document, with the passages it relied on. Summarize writes a short summary. Both use your Reviewer model.

With Settings → Analysis → Web search on, the investigator can look up public facts (standards, product versions, regulations). Queries are made generic first: names of people and organisations, document numbers, e-mail addresses and paths are removed, and every query is logged in the run folder. Choose the search provider in Settings → Search.

The status bar

Left: what the open document is doing (not analyzed, analyzing with its stage and time left, comments to triage, exported) or the file being prepared, with Cancel. A note appears when a provider's rate limit makes DocReview wait. Right: the review-loop counts, the number of sections, the files in your folders, and the current models; click the models to change them.
