Settings
What each Settings tab changes.
Settings opens from the gear in the header. Advanced sections hold the rarely needed controls.
General
Your name (the author of the comments DocReview writes), appearance (light, dark or your system's), automatic update checks. Advanced: the maximum length and temperature of model answers, and how many requests run in parallel: 1 for a local model that serves one request at a time, 4–8 for cloud providers.
Providers
Add, test and remove model providers and their keys; see Providers. Advanced, per provider: request limits (requests per minute, retries) and model controls (tool calls, the thinking switch, sampling).
Models
The Reviewer, Verifier and Vision models, and Check this model; see Choosing models.
Workspaces
Your folders, extra text extensions and the results location; see Your documents.
Analysis
- Also report spelling & grammar, Cross-section exploration, Verify every finding (recommended), Web search.
- Minor comments in the Word file, the comment budget and Overflow comments: see How many comments.
- Advanced: images for the Reviewer, thinking per stage (for models that support it), section workers, comments per section, and how many leads the investigator follows.
Search
The web search provider: Tavily, DuckDuckGo (no key; it has no official search API, so results can stop if its page changes), Brave Search, Google via Serper, or your own SearXNG instance (its address, with JSON output enabled). Paste the key where one is needed. Web search runs only when Analysis → Web search is on.
Telemetry
Off, Basic or Standard, and everything waiting to be sent; see What data the app sends.
Prompts
Shown while Advanced is open: the instructions each review step gives the model. Edit with care; Restore returns the default.
Updates
With automatic checks on, DocReview looks for a new version once a day when it starts and shows a banner; nothing installs without your click. Help → Check for updates asks at any time. Your settings and reviews are kept.
Licence
DocReview is free for individuals and for organisations of up to 5 people: no trial and no licence key. Help → Licence shows the conditions; larger organisations, see DocReview for organisations.
